HIPAA Statement
Protection of
confidential patient data is not new to Collection Service Bureau and has
always been a pillar of our business practices.
As a Business
Associate (BA) of our healthcare provider clientele, Collection Service
Bureau fully understands the BA requirements outlined in the Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
Specifically, our responsibility to safeguard Protected Health Information
(PHI) as defined by HIPAA is an absolute priority in our company’s
operations, practices, and training. All of our employees are bound by
strict confidentiality agreements and are expected to handle PHI in a
manner that ensures patient confidentiality. Use of PHI is strictly
limited to Payment functions as defined under the Act and we
employ the Minimum Necessary standard when granting access to such
information. In addition, we employ best practices security measures,
including encryption, when transmitting electronic PHI.
As a leading provider
of healthcare account recovery services, Collection Service Bureau is
absolutely committed to the security and confidentiality of our clients’
Protected Health Information.
